Senior Payroll Specialist
Duration: Temporary (1-3 months)
Pay: $45-$50/hour
Location: Concord - 100% on-site
Position Overview
The Senior Payroll Specialist oversees end-to-end payroll operations, ensures accurate benefits data, and supports related HR and accounting processes. This role requires strong technical payroll skills, experience with ADP, and the ability to maintain clean, compliant employee records.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Process semi-monthly payroll with accuracy and compliance.
- Manage timekeeping records, payroll adjustments, and employee deductions (garnishments, benefit deductions, etc.).
- Maintain payroll data integrity and support quarterly tax reconciliation.
- Track PTO balances, prepare routine payroll reports, and distribute year-end documents (W-2s, 1095-Cs).
- Identify and recommend improvements to payroll systems and workflows.
Benefits Support
- Maintain accurate benefit enrollment data, including new hire entries and terminations.
- Ensure all benefit deductions flow correctly through ADP.
- Partner with HR during open enrollment and help ensure ACA and internal policy compliance.
- Assist with 401(k) administration, including audit preparation and routine payroll feeds.
- Serve as a responsive resource for employee questions related to payroll or benefits.
HR & Administrative Support
- Participate in new-hire onboarding related to payroll/timekeeping.
- Handle employment verifications and unemployment inquiries.
- Maintain organized and secure electronic employee records.
- Update payroll systems with employee changes and support basic HR administrative tasks.
- Assist with miscellaneous internal programs (e.g., recognition initiatives).
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirments:
- Minimum 5 years of payroll and benefits administration experience
- Strong hands-on ADP WFN experience.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Experience working with benefits administration platforms is highly beneficial.
- Solid understanding of payroll compliance and audit processes.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
